Kevin Owens is on a roll over the past month on Raw. Finn Balor’s injury proved to be a blessing for him, as he defeated Big Cass, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins to become the WWE Universal Champion.
At WWE Clash of Champions, Owens retained his title by defeating Seth Rollins, albeit with the help of his friend Chris Jericho, and involuntary assistance from Stephanie McMahon, who sent out a second referee minutes after the first got knocked out, allowing Owens to recover and get the victory with his finishing move—pop-up powerbomb.
Obviously, he is still on a feud with Rollins, and certainly it looks like for a longer period of time.
However, when Owens was hosted by Jonathan Coachman in ESPN's Off The Top Rope show, the bulky wrestler was asked if he had any targeted opponent in mind for Wrestlemania 33.
Owens’s answer was straight, simple and crystal clear. He said: "I want Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania. It’s as simple as that”.
Before WrestleMania 32, there had been rumours about on these going head to head. Nothing materialized, though, as Owens defended the Intercontinental Championship in a Ladder match. Lesnar thrashed Dean Ambrose in a No Holds Barred match.
There have been a lot of people waiting to witness Kevin Owens vs Brock Lesnar. Most feel Owens can be the man to beat The Beast Incarnate, while many believe he can put up a great show, rather witnessing a one-sided traffic.
Lesnar is expected to be in WWE for a very short period of time, and if WWE could pep up things with the idea, Owens can be a super challenger. Expect a scintillating battle then, if it happens!
