India’s batting great Rahul Dravid, known as ‘The Wall’, turned 44 on Wednesday. Dravid for his solid batting technique and unbreachable defence is considered as one of the greatest batsman ever to grace the game.
The former India skipper has innumerable records and many memorable innings to his name. Dravid is fourth-highest run-scorer in Test cricket after Ricky Ponting, Sachin Tendulkar and Jacques Kallis. He has played 164 Tests for India and 344 ODIs while scoring over 10,000 runs in both the formats in an illustrious career.
He was also chosen as the India A and India Under-19 head coach by BCCI in 2015. Under his guidance, India U-19 team reached the final of ICC World Cup, which they lost against West Indies.
On his 44th birthday, cricketers across the globe wished the legendary batsman through Twitter.
Happy Birthday Rahul Bhai. Thank you for your encouragement & for being a great role model for all the budding cricketers out there
