Paris Saint-Germain will face Barcelona in first leg of their Champions League last 16 clash on Tuesday and will be without their skipper Thiago Silva, who has been ruled out with injury.
The Brazil international sat out of Friday's French league match away to Bordeaux because of problem to his left-calf and also missed training on Monday ahead of the Barcelona game.
His absence is another blow for PSG coach Unai Emery, who will also be without experienced and former Barcelona midfielder Thiago Motta through suspension.
Despite missing two key players, Emery is confident of executing his tactics and is not scared at the prospect of facing Barcelona's fearsome trio of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar.
‘’My players are good enough, they want to grow. It's an opportunity to show we can go far,’’ Emery was quoted in a report by DailyMail.
‘’We will play to our strengths and not try to imitate Atletico (Madrid), for example. My players don't feel that they are inferior to the MSN,’’ he added.
Since Emery replaced Laurent Blanc, PSG have struggled domestically and find themselves in a three-horse fight or the title with Monaco and Nice, the former leading the Parisians by three points after 25 games.
