Television Broadcast Engineer

Ten Sports, the Middle East’s leading sports broadcaster, is looking for Broadcast Engineers to be based in Dubai, UAE.
As a Television Broadcast Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring the quality of inbound and outbound television signals
- Installation, configuration & maintenance of digital Broadcast Television systems
- Operation & maintenance of subscriber management system
- Dealing with technical queries from our staff and clients
- Maintaining the integrity of all electronic, electromechanical and computer systems and equipment in our broadcast facility
- Provision of support for Studio, Master Control & Transmission operations
- On-call support and/or shift work where necessary
YOU WILL HAVE
Essential criteria:
- Relevant technical qualification
- Significant experience in digital television broadcast engineering
- Hands on electronics repair experience to component level
- Broadcast systems troubleshooting and diagnostics experience
- Microsoft Windows operating systems, applications and network literacy
- Willingness and ability to learn new skills and ‘ask questions’
- Ability to thrive under pressure and think outside the box
- Good oral and written communication skills in English
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Positive ‘can do!’ attitude
- Ability to understand and follow policies and procedures
- Impeccable self management skills
- The drive and commitment to meet deadlines
Desirable attributes:
- Satellite operations experience
- AutoCAD experience in technical schematic drawings
- Harris Automation experience
- Linux OS experience
- Understanding of general building services such as air-conditioning, mains power distribution and UPS power systems

Technical Officers (Master Control Room Operations)
Job Description: Maintaining the On -Air presence and quality of 9 channels by the efficient operation and coordination of Digital Broadcast Automation, Production and Transmission Systems. Precise checking and processing of electronic schedules & Play out of Digital Media to ensure accurate transmission of channel content. Technical Quality Checks of all ingested & duplicated material and Satellite Feeds. Coordinate live and non-live feeds with remote broadcast facilities via satellite & fibre networks. Operation, Configuration and Tuning of satellite receivers, Video/Audio processing systems, routing systems, VTR’s, Servers etc.
Qualifications: The suitable candidate should have minimum 3 years experience in an automated Television transmission environment as described above. Experience in Studio production like Vision Mixing, Cameras, Audio, Lighting etc. will be an advantage. He/ She should be a team Player with the flexibility to work a shift roster and should be able to cope with pressure under peak operational conditions. Minimum of Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering or equivalent is required.
